Tex and Rex are so frightened at the BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. The six-month-old puppies cling to each other for support. They have been scheduled for humane euthanasia, and they need our help.
Here they are:
Tex: A2047069 and Rex: A2047070.

Both puppies arrived at the shelter on November 29 and had been picked up as strays. They are both males, Staffordshire mixes and weigh about 20 pounds each. They are listed as “rescue only.”
Here is the summary as posted by the shelter:
Tex (A2047069) and Rex (A2047070) arrived as strays. Both puppies tested positive for demodex and are very crusty. The puppies are very friendly and want to be cuddled. They would greatly benefit from decompressing in a foster home where they can receive frequent medicated baths and progressive medical care.

Medical Notes:
The puppies each suffer from significant hair loss on their faces, legs and bodies. They are currently being treated with Advantage which should resolve the demodex over the next few months. They are also receiving Clavamox 125 mg, 1 tab PO BID x 10 days.
These puppies can only be tagged by an approved rescue organizations, but rescues need foster help, so everyone can participate even if the pets are “rescue only.” The puppies are listed as rescue only because of their physical condition.
Puppies should not have to start and end their short lives like this. Please share.

Oh dear!

I wish I was close enough to foster them both. Unless they can be transferred to me in Washington state, I can’t foster them (& it’s breaking my heart)……..
