In Austin, Texas, “Kiss,” a four-week-old puppy had been found in a trash can earlier this week. When discovered, the little guy was “cold, weak and barely hanging on.” The Good Samaritan who found the puppy rushed him to the veterinarian emergency clinic. The puppy’s blood glucose was too low to register, and he didn’t want to eat.

The clinic worked all night to help Kiss regulate his body temperature and gain some energy; the next morning they turned him over to Austin Animal Center to continue his treatment. Kiss needed more specialized treatment; the shelter asked Austin Pets Alive! (APA) for help.

And that’s how Kiss arrived. Their medical team has since helped him to rehydrate and raise his blood glucose. In addition, he has been administered antibiotics. According to APA, the clinic care would have cost more than $1,000, but the rescue does everything possible to keep costs lower.
APA is currently asking for donations to help. Make a gift by clicking: https://bit.ly/4k8RwDy
