Six-year-old Chloe had been surrendered to Carson Animal Shelter in California on November 4th, and needs the help of animal advocates immediately.
Here’s what the shelter evaluation posted about Chloe when a volunteer arrived to guide her outdoors for a well-deserved break in her boring confined kennel routine:

“Chloe A5736803 (Intact) was at the rear of the kennel pacing with a nervous demeanor and tense body posture upon the runner’s arrival. The runner was required to step into the kennel in order to leash her, causing Chloe to bark defensively. However, with a slow approach, she allowed herself to be leashed and guided out of her kennel with gentle tension. Chloe made her way to the catch pen, appearing concerned about the environment as she passed by the other kennels. Chloe was easily collared and leashed prior to entering the yard. Once inside the yard, she quickly became overwhelmed by the dogs who came forward to greet her, responding defensively by flashing her teeth and air-snapping. She was shifted to the yard with the calmer dogs, where she was able to pace herself. Chloe was reluctant to interact with the other dogs, distancing herself for the rest of the session. Once the session concluded, she was returned to her kennel without incident. Chloe could benefit from a home with no other dogs. Behavior modification for her defensive responses is highly recommended. Ok for public adoption, no other dogs recommended, low energy level.“
Chloe weighs about 86 pounds. She can be adopted by the general public, but it is recommended she be the only pet in the home.
Animal advocates have expressed how heartbreaking it is to see Chloe curled up in her kennel not understanding why she has been abandoned. She is in desperate need of a foster home or better yet – an adopter who will provide her with the friendship and time she deserves. Surely, Chloe will bring joy to the right family and all she asks for in exchange for her loyalty is to be cared for and loved.
Please share her plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Today might be Chloe’s last chance to see tomorrow’s sunrise. Sharing saves lives.
