At the Los Angeles County Animal Control in Lancaster, California, February 8th was the last time Blaze ever saw his human family. This extremely friendly pooch, described as great with children, great with other dogs both big and small and who barely gives a passing thought to cats, arrived at the shelter with his tail wagging and jumping up and down to greet the staff as if to say, “bring on the fun.”
And here we have a dream dog whose loyalty went unquestioned; for days Blaze waited at the entrance to his shelter cage watching very carefully for his human to return.

Blaze was surrendered toDay due to his owner moving. He thought he was coming to play with other dogs.
Now no more happy tail wagging. He is sad and losing hope but still watches everyday for his owner to return.
Tragically, no one came for Blaze. And even more tragic is Blaze is now scheduled to be euthanized on Thursday morning (February 6,). Now one can see the sadness in his eyes. If only humans came with instructions dogs could understand.
