Florida police rescued French bulldog left in car at beach as temperatures exceeded 96 degrees

On Sunday, the Clearwater Police Department rescued a French bulldog left in a vehicle with windows only down two inches.

The dog had been left in a car at Sand Key Park as temperatures and the heat index soared over 96 degrees. The officer found the dog panting excessively with drool coating the back seat. The officer rescued the dog out of the car and transported him to a veterinarian for emergency care.

The dog’s owner has since been charged with animal cruelty and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. The woman had allegedly left her dog in the car while she went to the beach.

The dog was later released to the woman’s husband. He was not at the scene when the dog was rescued.

Under no circumstances should you ever leave a pet inside a car during these hot summer days, The results can be deadly.
