In the Boynton Lakes community of Florida, residents of the small community sprang into action after spotting a coyote in attack mode on three small dogs during their morning walk.
Of course, the incident was jarring, but the residents on Mayfair Lane had witnessed the coyote charging Sandra Ciminelli’s three Yorkshire terriers on their Friday morning walk. The dogs had been sniffing around on the front lawn of their home when the coyote attacked.
Sandra screamed as the coyote grabbed one of the dogs and carried it off. The woman chased the coyote while holding onto the dog as the coyote dragged it away. Another neighbor jumped in to help trying to pull the dog free.
It had been Mario Colonbrito who had thrown rocks, sand and dirt at the coyote’s eyes; the wild animal finally released the dog.
The dog has been treated at the local veterinarian and is reported to be recovering.
Many thanks to Mario Colonbrito who, along with the help of neighbors, saved the day. Heroes don’t always wear capes.
