In Everett, Washington, police continue to search for the person who zipped a dog inside of a suitcase and abandoned her behind a restaurant. It had been on November 18 when patrol officers were notified about the abandoned dog in a dumpster.

Officer Kargopoltseva transported the dog, dubbed Binny to the Everett Animal Shelter, where she has been receiving love, care, and of course – lots of treats.

Since then, her recovery has captured hearts everywhere. Although Binny was malnourished when she arrived, she has continued to make significant strides in her recovery. It is thought that Binny had recently given birth to a litter of puppies. As she gains strength, Binny’s sweet disposition and her energy have been returning.

Binny loves meeting new people and soaking up the affection from everyone she encounters.

Police are investigating, but have not identified any suspects. Abandoning or abusing an animal is illegal under Washington law. Anyone with information about the dog’s owner is asked to contact the Everett Police Department.

Authorities do understand pet owners getting overwhelmed if they can no longer support to feed or care for their pet, but PLEASE – don’t abandon your pets. Reach out to friends, neighbors, police and local animal shelters. Call your local veterinarian and be honest. There are lots of kind people always willing to lend a hand or reach out to a needy paw.
