Boxer’s owner sent to prison for crimes but Gracie will pay with her life unless help arrives

Maybe Gracie didn’t live the most extravagant life, but she had been well cared for and loved; that is until her owner had recently been sentenced to prison, and yes, Gracie will likely pay for her owner’s crime with her life.

At the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control, Gracie has been placed on the euthanasia list for Monday, November 10. According to shelter staff, Gracie is not dog friendly in the shelter, and it is difficult to place dogs in “one pet only” homes. She’s confused and stressed, and volunteers say she is reactive because she is so afraid.

This is what we know about her:

  1. I feel so badly for this precious little girl. This treasure has no dog socialization whatsoever and I am so afraid for her (that she will be euthanized because she’s not friendly with other dogs).

I would apply to adopt her but we have rescued dogs and rescued horses, like many families.

I would love for a local rescue to help her (yes, I know that most shelters and rescues are overwhelmed right now). It’s so heartbreaking………
