In Tucson, Arizona, Engine 13 and Paramedic 13 from the Tucson Fire Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Monday that resulted in a dog being trapped underneath one of the vehicles.

A very frightened German shepherd puppy had been struck by two cars and became trapped beneath the second vehicle. Firemen knew they had to help and arrived at the scene prepared to make sure the puppy would be safely rescued and given emergency medical care if needed.

The dog seemed to be very scared, and did not appear to have any serious injuries, but nonetheless, she was too frightened to move.

Firemen worked with animal control officers who were successful releasing the puppy from under the vehicle. She was taken to a veterinarian for a health check.

Hopefully the puppy has been reunited with her owners.
