Who can explain to a loyal little dog that their person no longer thinks they are important or part of a family anymore? How does someone explain to a loyal little dog that he was abandoned, and that special person in his life has just driven away; never to return?

And here he was; on Sunday the black and white little dog who wandered onto a porch in Compton and waited. He showed up at the home at 10:00 a.m. – located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. All day long he waited and walked from the front porch to the side porch.
Fortunately, the kind family gave him food and water, but the little dog was too frightened to let anyone get too close. He would growl softly, and although he was tentative about anyone getting too close, he never left that porch.

Suzette Hall, a local independent rescuer and founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, didn’t hesitate to drive out to the location; she was determined to help.
When I finally pulled up, there he was — still on that same side porch, still waiting… almost like he was looking back and forth, hoping they’d come back for him. My heart broke. He was so scared, a little growly, but my goodness… the moment I set the trap, he went right in. He was just that hungry.
The home had been in a rural setting where coyotes roamed the area searching for food. It’s doubtful he would have survived the night.
How heartbreaking to know he had waited all day, hoping someone would come. But, thankfully someone did come; Suzette Hall made sure he was safe.
