In a lonely Los Angeles alley, an abandoned dog had been left to suffer in silence. He could barely find food; his skin hung loosely over his boney frame – his ribs were clearly visible.
Passersby completely ignored him; he was too frightened to approach anyone. His everyday route was to walk along the railroad tracks and run by the freeway.

Surely he could have been struck by a train or hit by a passing vehicle, but he didn’t know how to help himself. Instead he ran back into the alley and trembled in the corner.

It was as if he had been waiting for someone. Maybe he thought his human would return? Maybe he wanted someone to just care?

A Good Samaritan spotted the lonely dog, left him food and water and contacted independent rescuer, Suzette Hall for help.
I’ll never forget how sad and broken he looked — but also how his eyes lit up the moment he saw me, like he knew I was there to help.
Despite all the fear, the trauma, the pain, the dog ran right up to Suzette. Without hesitation, he allowed her to leash him.

He has open wounds and he’s emaciated, but no one will ever know how much he must have suffered on his own, because he is the friendliest, the sweetest and one of the most grateful dogs Suzette has ever met.
He’s now safe. He will be meeting with the veterinarian for a medical checkup, vaccinations and required treatments to aid in his recovery.

And from this moment forward, his life changes forever.
Updates to follow.
