Abandoned dog tied to back porch of abandoned house with no food or water until kindhearted people saw her and helped

Meet River; this poor young pup was found today, Sunday, November 23, 2025, tied up to the back porch of an abandoned house in Detroit. No doubt she had been left to die alone with no food, no water, no shelter and no way to free herself from the tether that she had firmly been secured to on the porch’s corner.

River had been hidden from any public view, and she was too weak to bark or even cry out for help. Today, however River’s bad luck changed. Kindhearted people from the neighborhood noticed the dog barely moving and called Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue for emergency help.

The rescue team raced out to help, and River has already been transported to a veterinary hospital for care. She will never be abandoned again.
