In Paramount, California, a small dog was spotted by a homeowner huddled underneath the Christmas displays outside of his home. There he was – the black and white pup shivering next to a tree, a Santa Claus and a snowman in a small corner of the yard.

The neighbors felt sorry for the abandoned pup and left him food and water, but no matter how hard they tried to capture him to bring him to safety, he would run away. The poor little pup had lost all faith in humanity.

The day after Christmas, Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 and Rosario Ortiz quietly approached the dog who was doing his best to hide. It was raining, and Suzette couldn’t imagine leaving the dog alone; not even one more day. He had been hiding deep in the bushes.
The women gated the area around the dog which would keep him confined to a small area.

And we got the gate around the bush
He was shaking and hunkering down
The bush was so thick it was so hard to get out hands down there
He would pop his head out just a little bit
You know I wasn’t giving up.
Fortunately a Good Samaritan saw how the women were trying to rescue the dog and came over to help. While Rosario held the gate closed around the bush where he had been hiding, the three people were able to get him cornered.
The dog wasn’t giving up easily. He tried everything he could to fight and convinced himself not to trust any humans. What must have this little dog been through in his past?
Suzette’s hands were all cut up from dealing with the bushes, but she didn’t care. They were finally able to get him safely into the humane trap.

The Santa Claus and the snowman would be coming down soon
The rain finally stopped
And this sweet boy didn’t have to spend another night out in the cold
Or next to a tree.
He was rescued. Meet Finn; on his way to the veterinarian for his medical checkup and hopefully soon to be available for adoption.
