Sweetest Marley at Missouri shelter 1440 days and still no one has adopted her

At the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in Reeds Spring, Missouri, a beautiful Labrador retriever and Chow Chow mix has been at the shelter since July 15, 2020. (No, that’s not a typo – almost 4 years!) Her name is Marley, and she is their longest term resident.

Meet Marley

“This pretty girl is our longest term resident. Intake date 7/15/2020. Born on July 15, 2013. Marley is a sweet girl but may take a little to warm up and is not good with other dogs. She loves the water and would be great for hiking and camping. She will be your forever friend for a ball or squeaky toy. She may be older, but she’s young at heart.”

Marley’s Adoption Offering:

It’s more than Marley’s turn to find that loving home she so deserves. Her current foster Ronni Hasten has been caring for Marley the last three months, and Ronni sings her praises. Although this dog is almost 11-years-old, she loves to play in the water, has had no accidents in the house, has been superbly trained with exceptional house manners, and although she lies by the table when the family eats, she does not beg for food.

She has bonded so quickly with Greg and I, says hi to our neighbors as we walk the community, is totally comfortable being home alone…but truly her favorite place is lying right at my feet when we are home. She was like a fish in water – never missing a beat from the moment she entered our home as if she has not had a super long residence in the shelter.

Foster mom

In addition, Marley loves to play fetch, loves going for walks and sleeps through the night on her bed next to her foster mom and dad.

We can only surmise that Marley just hasn’t had the airtime out here in the social media world to be introduced to her perfect human – that, perfect for Marley person, just waiting for this beautiful dog. Please share her photos, her story and her wish to find a home of her own.
