At the East Valley Shelter in Van Nuys, California, the shelter staff has been reaching out to social media asking for help for a sweet little senior dog. Named Bomba by the staff, he is 10-years-old, weighs 16.7 pounds and is described as a “DoxChi.”
Volunteers at the shelter are afraid Bomba’s opportunities to be rescued are running out.
i love his silky ears and beautiful face. But i think little bomba is in big trouble at East Valley. Bomba is going to need a village of dog lovers to get him to safety.
Bomba arrived at the shelter as a stray and will be officially available on December 12, however the shelter has already reached out for help. Thus far, no one has come to claim him, and it is doubtful at this point that his family has any intentions of coming to the shelter to find him.

For years, Bomba has been neglected. The veterinarian staff have identified the following health issues needed to be addressed should he be rescued by an approved organization or adopted by someone ready to commit to his needs.
- Heavy dental tartar
- Lenticular sclerosis
- Heart rate 128 Grade 4-5/6 systolic murmur, rr-normal
- Pea sized mass on the dorsal surface of digit #5 on left front paw
- He is not neutered
- Please share this little guy’s plight. Every life matters, and life for a shelter dog isn’t fun. For more information, here’s his adoption information:
