At Pawprints to Freedom – our Safe Haven Kennels, Cheshire, Bowie’s tail stopped wagging the moment he seemed to have understood the people who promised to adopt him and take him to a real home, never showed up.

Bowie came from a home, and he was not able to understand why he was no longer wanted. He has struggled adapting to life at the shelter, but he is adored by his team, and Bowie certainly adores them. It’s just that Bowie deserves a home of his own. To think, he is the most unwanted dog at the rescue is sad.

The team thought Bowie had finally found a home; the applicants went all the way through the adoption process, but at the last step, they stopped responding. It’s so heartbreaking to go back to the thought of Bowie having no one; no one who wants him, no one to take a chance on him.

Bowie is still hoping to find his forever home. The five-year-old pooch has been at the shelter for almost three years and is desperate to be out of the kennels. He is a great dog – once he trusts you, he shows his love, and has unconditionally decided that belly rubs are the best!

Yes, Bowie needs a special kind of family. He must live in an adults-only home, but he cannot be in a home with children. He could live with another dog following successful meets at the kennels.
Bowie does have allergies and is only able to process fish and cheese in his diet, so he does have a special food formula. He is also on steroids to manage his skin condition.
