At the Simpson County KY Animal Shelter, another senior dog is in desperate need of help. Imagine how she must have felt on a “random Wednesday” when her dad dropped her off at an animal shelter?
Meet Lucy; for ten years she had been in the same home. For ten years she had been loved, and although she never thought about or needed to think about why, Lucy was a happy, loved dog.
and then some random Wednesday in the winter, something changed. your dad dropped you off where there are many barking dogs. this is new. dad leaves and is never comming back to get you.
Lucy trembles in her kennel cage because this new place is very scary. There is no one here Lucy recognizes; although they are all nice to her, they are all strangers. The sounds are new, the smells are new, and life is so different and scary.
This is the sad reality of Lucy’s life; the shelter is overcrowded, and she’s a 10-year-old dog.
Please don’t stop reading now. Lucy is a bit older than most of the dogs in the shelter, but she’s great with people, great with dogs and even likes cats. She’s heartworm negative, spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations.
Please share Lucy’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts. She’s such a sweet girl and deserves better than to die in a shelter because no one wants her. Sharing saves lives.
