Meet Chief; this handsome one-year-old, 35-pound German shepherd and hound blend is back at the Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. located in Terryville, Connecticut. He is searching for his forever home.
Chief was rescued off the streets by a Good Samaritan a few months ago, who found him malnourished and covered with fleas. Chief’s rescuer brought him back to health, and both Chief and his person thought they would always be together, however circumstances changed although no fault from Chief.

Chief was rescued off the streets, covered in fleas and malnourished, by a good Samaritan who took the time to get him healthy, with good intentions to keep him, however the other dogs in the home were not happy with having a new sibling, so he is now part of our ARF family!
Chief is slowly adjusting to shelter life, but he needs out and into a home. He has been learning his basic command, leash manners, and he’s truly eager to learn. He’s young enough to fit into a new family and bring with him all of his love and loyalty.

At the shelter, this outgoing pooch seems to get along with other dogs so that’s a possibility. He has not been tested with cats.
Chief is ready to go home; he is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped and healthy. Please share his story with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
If you are interested in learning more about Chief, the adoption process, and adoption application can be found on the website at arfct.org/adopt. Once your application is submitted, the Adoption Coordinator will reach out to you via email and if approved, a meet and greet will be scheduled.
He can’t wait to meet you!
