At the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, a pair of two-year-old bonded male siblings are facing the lonely walk down the doomed hallway of no return. The dogs have been at the shelter since April 6, and now their time has run out. The shelter has granted their final extension.

Let’s begin with some information:

Pet Harbor Adoption for Ben:

BEN – ID#A564010

My name is Ben and I am a neutered male, white Great Pyrenees mix. Shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 3 months old. I have been at the shelter since Apr 06, 2024.

For more information about this animal, call San Bernardino City Animal Control at (909) 384-1304
Ask for information about animal ID number A564010.

Pet Harbor Adoption for Riley:

RILEY – ID#A564011

My name is Riley and I am a neutered male, white Great Pyrenees mix. Shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 3 months old. I have been at the shelter since Apr 13, 2024. Ask for information about animal ID number A464011

There has not been much information shared, however a volunteer familiar with both of the dogs did post the following:

A perfect pair of Sweets.. Arrived at the shelter together. Ben and Reily #A464011 & #A564010 are so Loving and Friendly. Really great dogs approx 2 years old. Both males and already neutered. Great Pyrenees mix. Time is precious and so is this darling duo

They are absolutely darling, it will warm your heart. They have so much love to give. They deserve a forever family and a happy ever after Hopefully together

Here is information about the dogs to give potential adopters/ rescuers:

“These boys are guessed by the shelter as being between 1-2 years old. They have been in playgroup and have exhibited some dominant behavior (attempting to mount or lay across other dogs). Both ARE NEUTERED and have had their Rabies vaccinations (courtesy of Cats nippers) along with the standard vaccinations given at the shelter. Found as strays, the FINDER SAID they were both FRIENDLY TO ADULTS and CHILDREN. There is definitely a bit of sibling rivalry between them as they do growl at each other and Ben chased and nipped Riley although not in a way to cause injury. RILEY /ODEN was adopted for about a week, not long after they came to the shelter. The adopters returned him because they didn’t have enough time to look after him….. They said he is SUPER SMART and learned “Sit” and leash training VERY quickly. He LOVED TO CUDDLE and would possibly be a better fit for a family. He was suffering with separation anxiety…….. Separated from his brother…… left alone when they were out working…… SOOO……. CAN WE GET THEM SAFE FOLKS???”

  1. Both of these precious treasures are welcome to join us in Washington state. I can meet up with transport in Portland Oregon. We rehomed 2 furbabies so we have room for these two brothers.

If anyone is coming up to the PNW, I am interested!!!
