Golden retrievers, Cooper and Tucker have been adopted. Their story is heartwarming, knowing these two bonded brothers who had been surrendered to the Greene County Animal Shelter of Virginia due to the recent death of a family member and the inability of the relative to properly care for the dogs, have defied the odds and have been adopted together.
According to the shelter, the relative who surrendered Cooper and Tucker wanted the dogs to be adopted together, but the shelter couldn’t promise that. When the dogs arrived they were “super scared.”

Four-year-old Tucker was described as very sweet, but he had not lived with children. His brother Cooper, was also described as sweet, but weighing more than 100 pounds; he was definitely in need of exercise. When he arrived, Cooper was extremely anxious, and he no doubt relied on his brother Tucker to make sure he was safe. At times, Cooper would lean his head against his brother for emotional support. The two were closely bonded.

Few large dogs, even when they are bonded so closely ever are adopted together, but somehow the magic of the upcoming holidays played its part with these two sweethearts. An “amazing family” who had been wanting to add a golden retriever to their family decided they couldn’t just have one – they needed both dogs!
They felt the dogs needed them, and they were there to help.
How fortunate that these two dogs didn’t have to spend much time at the shelter.
