In Port St. Lucie, Florida one very lucky dog had to have borrowed an extra life from a cat he knew, because this particular pooch had been struck by a car and remained trapped in the vehicle’s grill for 12 hours. And amazingly, this lucky pup was rescued and didn’t suffer any serious injuries.

Earlier this week, a woman had been driving at night and momentarily spotted a dog darting in front of her vehicle. She stopped her vehicle, looked around, but didn’t see the dog anywhere and assumed he ran away. Little did she know that the dog had become stuck in the car’s grill as she continued driving.

The next morning, the woman was in shock when she saw the dog and heard him barking from within the vehicle; she immediately drove to St. Lucie Battery and Tire where the staff and an animal care officer helped to free the dog.
Video footage shows the rescue ordeal. This was one brave little dog:

This is what St. Lucie Battery and Tire had to say about the successful rescue:
A Miracle on Four Paws
Late Tuesday night, one lucky pup defied the odds. After a heart-stopping moment, this sweet dog was hit by a car and somehow found himself wedged in the lower bumper. The driver, shocked but determined to get help, carefully drove to us the next day to get assistance. Together with animal control, we helped free the dog, who walked away without a single scratch!
This isn’t the first time we’ve had a miraculous rescue here. We’re just thankful to have played a part in keeping this furry friend safe.
If you ever need help – whether it’s for your car or a four-legged friend – you know where to find us!
And the news gets even better! The dog’s owner, Juan Rangel said the dog named Barbas had run away on Monday night. They thought they were never going to see him again until a St. Lucie County Animal Safety officer contacted them and stated she had found his dog.

Barbas is now home and feeling very chipper. Perhaps he has thanked his angels?
