Lots of compassion needed to save neglected shepherd discovered near trash pile

It’s even a bit hard to believe shelter personnel at San Bernardino County – Devore Animal Shelter believe the German shepherd, now named Grayson, is only eight-years-old. What a sad and neglected life this poor dog must have endured.

According to shelter notes, Grayson was found as a stray near a pile of trash just days ago.

Shelter notes indicate Grayson is frightened in the shelter environment. His future is uncertain, but because of the overcrowding in shelters, dogs – even the most expressive and sweet dogs, have been euthanized to make room for more unwanted dogs.

This is what we know about Grayson via the shelter:

  1. I wish I could help all these wonderful senior GSDs. We have room for 2 more rescues but since we have 4 seniors all under 10 pounds, we should stick with rescues who aren’t really large. It’s breaking my heart though……
