In Compton, California, a heavily pregnant tiny pooch had been aimlessly wandering the grounds of an apartment complex for weeks. Maybe she was looking for her home or maybe someone who didn’t want the responsibility of a litter of puppies soon to be born, dropped her off and heartlessly drove away?
Most likely, we will never know the real story surrounding this helpless young dog, but on September 13, Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, arrived to rescue the dog people walking by shunned, ignored or simply didn’t care.
I couldn’t wait to look into her eyes. Poor baby couldn’t even see through all the matting. Stickers everywhere in her fur. A hurt leg and hugely pregnant
That was what Suzette faced, and her heart broke. She couldn’t even imagine all this dog had been through, but the one saving grace had been a friend who noticed the dog, and with a neighbor had been collectively able to capture her.

Hall drove to the location, and as she picked the tiny dog up into her arms, tears ran down Suzette’s cheeks. This dog didn’t deserve this terrible neglect, but this was no time to cry – now was the time to go straight to the organization’s partner veterinarian followed by a strategic haircut to help her to finally see.
She was given the name Swan because she is angelic, delicate and sweet. Layer by layer she was completely shaved down. There was too much matting, including the imbedded fur around her eyes, to save her coat, but it will grow back.
Swan is pregnant with four puppies; her new life and the ones of her puppies when born will be magical. She will be going to Lovebugs Rescue and to an amazing foster.

We have an idea what your former life was like. It’s clear you have lived through unimaginable neglect. How anyone could look at you, and then turn the other way is unthinkable. We know you were pleading for help and waiting for the day that you were rescued. And thanks to @logans_legacy29 you were seen and saved.
Today you became a Lovebug and you started the next chapter in your life. All of the matted fur, now gone. All of those lonely days fending for yourself, now behind you.
UPDATE: Four puppies were born last night!
