In Dallas, Texas, volunteers and staff alike, at the Dallas Animal Services, are hoping someone will come to the rescue of Peaches. (#A0755388) What a sad life she has had, and here she is at 12-years-old back at the shelter after having had at least six homes.

11/18/2012 – arrived at shelter
1/12/2013 – adopted
8/30/2013 -returned to shelter
5/21/2014 – came back to shelter as a stray
10/9/2014 – her owner never reclaimed her
11/13/2014 – adopted
3/8/2015 – her owner never reclaimed her
3/19/2015 – transferred back to DAS as stray from another shelter
8/28/2024 ? Possible rescue now
Peaches has been having difficulty walking. Her physical exam shows she is flea infested and is stiff.
“Flea infested, toe touching on R hind limb. Crepitus in R stifle/pain and stiffness when trying to palpate. BCS = 4/9, pink/moist mm, QARH, papules in inguinal areas, severe dental disease, enlarged L submandibular lymph node, OU-lenticular sclerosis, AU- black debris ( AD > AS ), sarcopenia ( muscle atrophy worse on R hind ). Gave carprofen SQ. Doing ear cytology. Needs rads of hind limbs, pelvis, and spine. Start tomorrow on oral carprofen for 3 days.Earcytology: + for Yeast and rods.”
What kind of life has this been for Peaches? Please share her story. She deserves better. Peaches will need to be under the care of a veterinarian to best treat her physical issues.
