In Charleston, South Carolina, a boating accident happened on Monday night at an abandoned dock about a half mile south of Dolphin Cove Marina. The family’s one-and-a-half-year-old Golden retriever, Rocky disappeared off of the boat into the Ashley River. The family was devastated and searched for Rocky, asking for the public’s help. Although everyone had been on the lookout, there had been no sightings of the dog on Monday evening.
Fortunately Rocky had been wearing a red life jacket, which made him more recognizable. Earlier today, the good news arrived:
We are so happy to report that Rocky, the dog lost in a boating accident, has been FOUND ALIVE and well with his life vest on! He swam across the Ashley over to a neighborhood in West Ashley and a family saw him chasing a raccoon around their backyard and recognized him!

Rocky was taken to the family veterinarian, and this lucky but tired pup is expected to make a full recovery from his sprained ankle.
