Misty had been found lying on broken, ragged rocks at a construction site in Udaipur, India by a cement worker. No doubt she was slowly dying under the thorny bushes, but someone at the building location had called Animal Aid’s emergency rescue number for help.

The staff at the rescue-center, hospital and sanctuary for ownerless street animals in Udaipur, Rajasthan dispatched their emergency rescue service, and when they arrived, there she was. A once beautiful shepherd had been near death and would have died without emergency intervention.

Misty was panting heavily, and her fixed gaze revealed she likely had suffered from a brain injury. Her rescuers carefully picked her and carried her to the waiting animal ambulance. When she arrived at the animal hospital, she was only half-conscious.

The attending veterinarians immediately inserted an intravenous line to administer pain medication, including a hydraulic drip and an additional oxygen mask. An old fracture in her front paw was not treatable and could not be splinted. Fortunately, she had no visible injuries and didn’t seem to have any internal bleeding.

She was placed in a kennel with soft blankets, extra oxygen to help her regain consciousness and left to rest.
Dogs are such amazing sentient beings. By the second day, Misty was already feeling better; she began to eat, and anyone who has a dog, knows that eating is a very good sign.

She slowly began to feel better, and although she spent some time regaining her strength and thwarting off the wobbles, Misty has made a miraculous recovery.

Check out her video. Misty is amazing! The video section at the end where Misty has fully recovered makes us want to smile from ear to ear.
