Stray Rescue of St. Louis introduced their supporters to the sweetest dog on Friday. The adorable little guy had been abandoned, and his rescuers had been told his owners had moved away and left him behind.
At first, it was thought the dog dubbed Owen had been struck by a car, since he had been dragging his back legs, but after a visit to the organization’s partner veterinarian, everyone involved in his rescue drew a collective gasp. Owen had been the victim of senseless violence. His back legs are paralyzed, and they were raw from having been dragged.

Not only was he abandoned, but he was abandoned while badly injured. We wonder if they drove away without giving him a second thought, as he dragged his body and watched their car drive away.

More than likely, Owen has been living like this for an extended period of time, Veterinarians didn’t find any open wounds, and his legs were raw; the bones in his toes no longer there.
