UPDATE: Tortured and abandoned tiny dog Pepito’s long journey to feeling better

Spread the love

Tiny Pepito had been both injured and abandoned. His family left him at a park in Compton, California, late last week. All Pepito could do was cry in pain, shake and hope someone would save him from his misery.

Suzette Hall, founder of  Logan’s Legacy 29, met other volunteer rescuers offering to help. The number of dogs being abandoned has exponentially increased, and each case is perhaps more heartbreaking than the next. And Pepito’s story was absolutely heartbreaking:

THE OWNER’S SON WHO IS 18 AND EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE BEAT PEPITO ON THURSDAY AND CAUSED HIM THESE INJURIES. THE OWNER LATER ADMITTED TO DUMPING HIM AT THE PARK ‘BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.’

Pepito is still not able to walk. Veterinarians say he more than likely has a lumbar disc issue, but because of the trauma, it is more prudent to wait before he can be sedated and x-rayed. In the interim, the dog will be administered Clavmox, Gabapentin and Prednisone to address his injury and pain. Hopefully, he will improve in the next two weeks. We will keep everyone updated.
