In Westminster, Colorado, a missing Rottweiler named Bear was found running down U.S. 36 on Thursday – that would be three years from when the dog was reported missing from his home in Texas.

According to the Westminster Police Department, officers responded to a call in the morning about the dog running along the highway. Officers responded and looked for the dog. A passing motorist, Jessica Lockard, also spotted the dog and quickly stopped her car to help the dog and make sure he didn’t get hit on the roadway. Jessica said the dog was very scared, however he didn’t seem or look aggressive, and urged him into her vehicle. She drove Bear to the police station where it would be possible to find out if the dog had a microchip.

I’m grateful I was able to be in the right place at the right time!! Also to know that this baby gets to go home to his rightful owner and be with his family yay!! He was so sweet! Safe journeys and I’m glad you’re going home!!

At the Foothills Animal Shelter, a reunion has been arranged and Bear and his family will soon be reunited.

Absolute wild day today that sent us through a whirlwind of emotions! Received a phone call at noon today that our Bear who had been missing since 2020 and we presumed we’d never see again was found in WESTMINSTER COLORADO! We had him microchipped when we adopted him and ultimately that is how they received our information.

Looking forward to reuniting with our good boy!

Bear belongs to Nicholas Natividad, who told authorities he thought his dog had been stolen. And just imagine, how Nicholas and his family reacted when authorities called him and told him they had found his dog, and the dog was healthy?

Many thanks to Jessica – angels live among us and make our lives better.

  1. I am so happy for this precious treasure getting reunited with his family!!! Thank goodness for the microchip😀😀😀

When we adopt, we “chip and snip” so that we don’t have any puppies, kittens or foals…….. and we keep our information up to date so that if anyone gets away, hopefully we can be reunited……..
