Some stories of incredible kindness to those who cannot speak make our day. And this morning, this writer wants to introduce everyone to one particular officer who braved a heavy snowstorm at night to rescue a dog in “distress.”

According to the Facebook page for the Ogden Police Department in Utah, Animal Service officer A. Dickman responded to a call about a dog that “sounded as though it was in distress.” The dog had gotten loose and had run away. The frightened pup found himself stranded in the parking lot of Waterfall Canyon.

And here’s the part about the ASO A. Dickman that makes all of us want to give her an “attagirl.” The officer hiked the Bonneville Shortline Trail in the heavy snowstorm at night and found the “distraught” dog. She scanned the dog for his microchip and was then able to track down its owners and return the dog to the grateful family.

Thank you, ASO D.

Please stop by the Ogden Police Department Facebook page and thank ASO Dickman.
