Heartwarming rescue of stray street dog caring for multiple litters of puppies

Spread the love

In an endless need for foster homes for dogs who have been rescued by Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform, every dog has a story. One dog, Gracie, had been living on the streets, and for the longest time had eluded capture.

During Gracie’s time as a stray, she had produced at least two litters of puppies near a home or business where nearby neighbors would help the puppies. People often said it was as if Gracie knew her puppies would be fine, and suddenly one day, the mother dog was gone. Had she died?

Not too long after, a Good Samaritan spotted Gracie and started to follow her. Slowly the woman built up trust with the dog and followed her to a concrete block company which had been the last time she had given birth to a litter. It had been a maze of blocks making it hard to capture Gracie and even more difficult to capture the puppies.

The tenaciousness of the volunteer was incredible. She would not leave her behind this time. She was failed too many times before this time.

And Gracie was rescued!

The father of the puppies seemed always to be following her.

And this time Gracie was finally rescued and taken to a small shelter where volunteers and staff worked with her until Dallas Dog R.R.R were able to bring her into their program. Meanwhile being boarded is no place for Gracie; she needs a foster to help her become the best canine citizen she can be. Please help.

Gracie is safe. There will be no more streets to scavenge for food. There will be no more puppies to care for, and there will be no more male dogs impregnating her over and over.

Gracie needs a foster home. She is described as a sweet dog, is medium sized, gets along with other dogs and is not reactive to cats. Please share her plight, and if you can foster her, it will be another step in the direction of Gracie looking forward to a wonderful, new life.
