At the Fort Worth Animal Care & Control, volunteers and staff alike are heartbroken. Buddy, a 16-year-old Labrador retriever, was surrendered to the shelter on Sunday. Animal control officers picked Buddy up from his home for one last time. His family didn’t want him anymore because of their dog’s health issues.

He’s old and going to end up being euthanized alone without his people. Do people care?

Buddy presented with an old leg injury and also may be incontinent. His records stated he had been at this same shelter years ago, and at the time was heartworm positive.

Although Buddy may not have much time left, his advocates are hoping someone might want to offer him hospice care, get him released from the overcrowded, noisy shelter and spoil him with love, treats and adventures. And when it’s finally Buddy’s time, his new people will be there to hold him and tell him what a good boy he is.

Please share Buddy’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts.
