There’s something special about a man who risks his own life to save another life. In a short clip, posted on Twitter and TikTok shared by GoodNewsMovement on Wednesday, a man is shown shivering after emerging from a freezing lake. He had fallen through the ice while rescuing a dog that wasn’t even his.

Besides the hero saving the dog, there’s even more to smile about; a group of people who had watched the man rescue the dog in the subzero temperature lake coming out onto the shore shivering stepped in to help. Members of the group offered their own clothing to warm the man and wrapped their own coats around him to help. Other people were seen rubbing the man’s chest to increase his body temperature.

Gives us all faith in humanity don’t you think?

Cat and mouse?
Maybe pup should not be in back of his friend while digging?
