Mohammadreza Shojaei, 36, was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Monday for breaking the neck of a tiny chihuahua he had been dog sitting; alleging the dog had bitten his finger and would not let go.

He was convicted November 22 of a felony count of cruelty to animals and will also be on probation for one year.

According to FoxLANews, Shojaei had been dog sitting in May 26, 2018 when he called authorities to report the dog he had been watching was dying. When police arrived, they saw the dog lying on the floor unable to move, however he was still alive.

Shojaei told authorities that he had thrown the dog against the wall after Max bit his finger and would not let go. After examining the man’s finger, however, police were only able to find a scratch, but no puncture wound.

And if that cruel deed wasn’t enough, Shojaei admitted to authorities he stuck push pins into the dog to test Max for paralysis.

Max was rushed to an emergency veterinarian where it was decided the dog’s injuries were too severe, and Max was humanely euthanized.

Rest in peace Max.
