In Chandler, Arizona, a family had been out celebrating a family member’s birthday at a local restaurant when the Chandler Police Department sent Heidi Best a rather strange message. A “caring citizen” had alerted police to an unusual situation – a beautiful black Great Dane was sitting on the roof of their house.

The police sent the photo of the dog named Hope to Best, who immediately froze in panic afraid her beloved dog was in danger. The two-year-old friendly pup had been left alone many times in the past, but this time Hope found an upstairs window open; just enough for her to squeeze out onto the roof.

The responding officer jumped into action to rescue the dog and backed his patrol car under the roof just in case Hope decided to jump. He then entered the house and was able to coax the dog back into the house from the window she had exited – all safe and sound.

Perhaps Hope just wanted to see what was going on and maybe catch a glimpse of her mom coming home? We are sure the family will not leave any windows open for Hope anymore while they are away from home.
