At the Wake County Animal Care, a unique bonded pair are looking for a very special rescue organization. While it is not that unusual that animals often find love and solace between them and subsequently bond, it is rather unique to find a home situation or a rescue organization who can accommodate a bonded goat and a dog.

Felix is a one-year-old dog who weighs approximately 60 pounds, and his very close friend is Cinnamon who is an adult female goat.

They are best buds and are truly bonded; they even sleep together and have been kept together 24/7 except when they eat.

A few rescues have reached out with some solutions and ideas. According to the Friends of Wake County Animal Center, there could be potential issues as Felix matures. Goats can trigger the prey drive in the calmest dogs, and it has been suggested the two may have to be separated.

They may go to rescue and that rescue who has the knowledge and expertise may determine placement together is not right. All we know right now is we have a distraught goat and dog when they aren’t together.
