Her name is Kasey, and this young dog’s life has been turned inside out as well as upside down. This frightened German shepherd had most likely been abandoned in the Los Angeles area, and even though she was exhausted and scared with an overwhelming sadness, she refused to leave the area where her owners had left her alone to survive on the streets. Perhaps they would return? Kasey hoped and she hoped, but no one came; that is until the local animal shelter arrived to help.
It had taken Animal Control two attempts to catch Kasey, and finally they were successful. Once at the shelter, her family never arrived to claim their beautiful and sensitive dog.
And now with unprecedented crowding at animal shelters, big dogs don’t get long to live. Her mandatory stray hold expired and anything could have happened to Kasey. Fortunately, Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles has stepped up to help, however the organization is currently overwhelmed with 130 dogs and need help to care for another dog.
