Young shepherd already let down by family – finds herself homeless at shelter

A beautiful young shepherd, not even two years of age, finds herself homeless after her family decided to surrender her to a busy animal shelter in Los Angeles County, California. The dog, named Mackenzie, was surrendered to the Carson Animal Services facility earlier this month and now she needs someone new to take her in and treat her like family.

On February 6, the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page posted a video of Mackenzie, writing:

This baby girl was left at the Shelter at just a year old and she needs help. Please SHARE, she has sweet energy and a FOSTER or Adopter would save her.

Providing notes about the dog’s personality:

Mackenzie was in the play yard and was allowed to explore the yard before the assessment. She was called over and she ran over to the handler. She jumped up on their shoulders with a full body wag, soft eyes, loose body, neutral ears and an open pant. She allowed the handler to pet her and touch her ears, head, mouth body and legs without any issue. She leaned into the handler and solicited petting after the assessment and walked next to the runner when putting back into the kennel. She is required to go to a home with middle school aged kids or older.

Will you please help this young dog find a loyal and loving new owner? Mackenzie deserves to be loved and cared for by someone who will never turn her aside.
