Stuart, Florida -The tables were turned on fishermen who were on board a fishing vessel in Florida when a sailfish fighting for its life made a run at a fishing boat, jumped into the air, and impaled a woman. According to multiple sources, the 100-pound sailfish had been hooked by someone on the boat and in the midst of the fight, the fish made a run at the vessel.

The fish leaped into the air and impaled 73-year-old Katherine Perkins in the groin area as she stood near the boat’s center console. Two other people on the boat applied pressure to her wound and rushed her to shore for medical attention. As reported by NBC News, Perkins told the police that it happened so quickly that she had no time to react.
The woman was flown to a hospital for treatment; her condition is unknown.
