Have you seen this dog? A woman in Lexington, North Carolina, claims that the dog’s owners decided that they didn’t want her anymore. So instead of taking her to a shelter, they allegedly drove her 30-40 miles from home and abandoned her in the snow.

The dog’s advocate writes:

I have posted on every page I can think of & checking shelters, please help us find this sweet girl. I have no idea where she could be, her owners decided they didn’t want her anymore so IN THE SNOW they took this girl off and dumped her 30-40 mins from Lexington NC.

Explaining her connection to the missing dog:

She would come to my house every morning and night for her daily treats and she’d make her way back to a place she thought was home. I’m heart broken and completely disgusted at the people who owned her. They think all of this is funny and are choosing not to tell us where or even the direction they took her.

Expressing her disgust about what happened:

How can you be a decent human being and dump a dog? And how in the world can you talk about dumping her like it’s nothing?? I just want to know that she’s okay & I want to bring her home, to a home that she’s loved in.

If by some chance you have seen this dog, please message the woman who made the public Facebook post – find the link here. Or (text only) 336-309-4627, email [email protected]

  1. I have been following this story on FB. Sadly, this precious treasure has not yet been found. I just hope she IS found alive……..

I think that the pos owners should be reported to the police, sheriffs department, animal control AND the media alerted too.

There are NO laws forcing people to have companion animals. If someone has an animal they can’t keep, they should bring it to a rescue center or shelter for rehoming.

The saddest thing is that “dumped animals” usually stay where they are dumped, waiting for their humans to retrieve them (& often die there whilst waiting or are hit by cars near the dump site or attacked by predators).

For many years I have worked in a rural area and seen waaaaaaay too many animals dumped nearby. We try to save and rehome as many of these dumped animals as possible but we also have to take feral cats to the shelter (absolutely breaks my heart)…….

Someone knows where this precious treasure is and I hope they come forward……..
