In Miami, a family’s surveillance camera captured the disturbing incident of a UPS driver dropping a large box over a fence directly on top of the family’s German shepherd.
According to News7Miami, the incident occurred on February 23, 2022. The video began with the dog barking and jumping at the gate where the UPS driver was holding the large box. The driver then threw the heavy carton over the gate landing directly on top of the dog. Fortunately the dog was not injured, but the woman who owns the dog was very upset. At no time did the woman think it was an accident by the driver either; contending the driver clearly saw and knew what he was doing.
After seeing what happened, the woman went outside, however the driver didn’t acknowledge that he threw the box. The box contained a wheelchair, indicating it had been quite a heavy delivery. In the past, the homeowner stated that heavy items are generally left leaning against the fence.
A complaint to UPS was followed up by the company issuing a statement which in part said:
“UPS employees receive regular training on the company’s methods to safely deliver packages, and unprofessional behavior is not tolerated.”

The company also told the woman they were going to remove the driver from the road, and although she made it clear, she is very appreciative of delivery drivers on a day-to-day basis, there should be professionalism and compassion for both people and animals.

Clearly not an accident, he threw the box at the dog. He could have just slid it over the top and let it down along the fence without doing any harm to himself, the dog, or the delivery.
