On Tuesday, for the second time in just three months, a park worker not authorized to enter a tiger’s cage at a Florida airboat and animal park, was mauled and rushed to the hospital.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the 50-year-old worker from Wooten’s Airboat Tours, entered the cage and both of his arms were severely injured.

Preliminary (very) info indicates a tiger in an enclosure at that location was being fed by it’s caretaker when a 50 year old male, an employee of Wooten’s who was not authorized to be with the tiger, entered the tiger’s enclosure. The tiger attacked the man and caused injuries to both arms. The man has been transported to a hospital by EMS.

The caretaker was able to contain the tiger, and the tiger was not injured.

Tuesday’s attack is the second in Florida in the past three months. A rare Malayan tiger grabbed the arm of a man who stuck his arm into its enclosure at the Naples Zoo in December. Deputies shot and killed the tiger in that attack so that the victim, 26-year-old River Rosenquist, could be rescued.

Updates to follow.
