Days ago, a vehicle pulled up to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society after hours…surveillance video reveals what happened next. According to the shelter, three women began to unload box after box of “frightened and sickly” kittens and cats. The animal welfare agency added, “When we reviewed the surveillance video, we saw these women throw additional loose cats from the back of their SUV, cats scattering across our property.”
After staff received a phone call from a concerned neighbor who witnessed what happened, they rushed back to the facility to try and round up the abandoned felines.
The release from the shelter describes what happened next:
Our staff spent their Saturday evening cleaning ears, eyes, and worrying over the cats lost to the fields outside the shelter. It was too cold to safely trap them overnight. Staff arrived early to set traps away from our dog walking paths, to avoid any dangerous encounters as the morning routine began.
All told, there are 20 cats now recovering in our shelter.
Admonishing the people who chose to abandon these cats and kittens instead of properly surrendering them:
This all could have been avoided by reaching out to the shelter ahead of time.

Yes, they are cute kittens, but what happened last night was a violation of law. It was selfish and it was inhumane.
According to the shelter, the video footage is being reviewed in an effort to identify the people responsible.

OMG: those poor terrified precious little treasures….. I hope the cats that were thrown loose into the fields can be safely trapped and receive the care they need.
I hope the POSs who abandoned all these precious little treasures are located and jailed for a very long time…….
