A 13-foot highly aggressive and rare type of crocodile nearly attacked the son of the late Steve Irwin while filming the latest series episode at the Australia Zoo. The crocodile, named Casper, weighs 770 pounds and measures nearly 13-feet in length.

According to the Express, Robert Irwin, 18, was forced to flee or “bail” when the “leucistic” croc charged at him. At the time, Robert had been testing if Casper was comfortable enough in his new enclosure to be featured at the zoo’s show. The croc ignored the chicken parts Irwin had been offering it, and instead charged for the teen with its jaws snapping.

Irwin narrowly escaped injury. The leucistic saltwater crocodile, which is missing the dark skin pigment and appears lighter in color that other crocodiles, is by far one of the aggressive crocodiles the zoo has ever encountered. Casper’s companion, named Wendy, suffers from the same condition. Had they been left out in the wild, they likely would not have survived.

The footage uploaded to Irwin’s Instagram showed Casper leaping out of the water and snapping his jaws at Irwin; who dropped the chicken meat and turned around, yelling, “Bail, bail, bail!”

In 2006, Robert’s dad, Steve, 44, died while filming a documentary at Australia’s Great Barrier Reef when he was mortally stung by a stingray in the chest.
