Special home needed for bonded dogs – one is blind and the other is his guide dog

A search is underway for the ideal home for a special pair of dogs who are deeply bonded to one another. One of the dogs (Tilton) is blind, and his friend, Joli, is his guide. This week, Blind and Deaf Dogs Networking shared the dogs’ information, explaining their need for each other:

Tilton is completely blind due to unknown causes. Joli is not blind at all, but she is Tilton’s guide dog.

Adding:

Joli is strongly bonded to her friend, Tilton, and is constantly at his side! They have been in foster care since April 2021.

Joli and Tilton are in a foster home that is affiliated with the shelter that is trying to find them a home…and the home they are in has 13 dogs. According to the post, this is the only home available, and it is not ideal for this bonded duo. The post explains how this is impacting Tilton:

Tilton, who is blind, is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. He previously had the full run of the house, but, due to a conflict with just one of the thirteen other dogs in the foster home, he had to be separated to prevent further issues.

Tilton’s shelter advocate would like you to know,

“It takes him a while to adjust to new environments, but we do not feel he was given a fair chance in the current foster home. He may do best in a foster home with no other dogs, that is quiet and low key.”
