Sad pair of dogs ‘Apple’ and ‘Dumpling’ have been overlooked and neglected too long

Apple and Dumpling – mother and daughter, have been overlooked and neglected far too long. They are both at the Harris County Pets Resource Center in Houston, Texas, and it is hoped telling their story will help find them new homes and onto a positive path out of an overcrowded shelter.

Both dogs have SCABIES (contagious to humans) with a SECONDARY INFECTION. They walked up to a homeowner’s porch two days ago in an area popular for abandoning dogs. Apple has not been reactive to humans; sadly nothing else is known about her at this time.

Her baby, Dumpling, is estimated to be only nine-weeks of age. It’s likely she has never had a chance to be a happy, healthy puppy.

Both dogs have been started on medication.

Apple is heartworm POSITIVE, so she will need medication

Apple is 2 years old and 50 lbs

Dumpling is 9 weeks old and 11.6 lbs

Both dogs picked up in zip code 77357 (New Caney) on 1/22
