Update 1/18/2022: Thanks to a dedicated networker, this dog has been saved! He is safe with an animal rescue agency in northern California.

As 2022 came to fruition, a purebred boxer was picked up as a “stray” and taken to the SEAACA Downey Animal shelter in California. Though the mature dog most certainly had an owner, nobody came to the facility to claim him as their own.

On January 5, a networking advocate wrote:

Animal ID: 22-05639
Mr Boxer is a perfect gentleman.
A purebred puppy that has grown up and seems discarded in his golden years.
Every single effort to find the owner went unanswered. Of course, because he was discarded – not missing.
Today, his stray hold ends.

With the knowledge that Mr. Boxer’s stray hold has expired also comes the knowledge that he can be put down when space constraints become an issue. His advocate said:

Mr Boxer’s kennel could very well be the next one needed. With that being said, Mr. Boxer’s stay will soon expire.
A perfect gentleman who is very well behaved, good with other dogs and kids; as well as ignores cats.
If not get out ASAP, will be out in a black garbage bag.

Will you please help this discarded pet find a new family? Before it is too late?

  1. PLEASE PLEASE–THEY WILL CERTAINLY KILL THIS SWEET PUREBRED BOXER WITHOUT YOUR HELP!

THIS IS A HIGH AND FAST KILL SHELTER!

    • Can you get him anywhere close to Indiana? I would love to adopt him. We’ve been with the same vet for nearly 30 years, have a 6′ fence and backs up to 150 acres of farm land and woods. We have a 4 yr old boxer and a 13 yr old pointer (rescue). Both female and spayed. We would love to have him.

  2. I live in Southern Arizona and am an approved foster for Rejection Collection Boxer. I am going to call Lucy Blake, the administrator right now to see if she will call you and put a hold on Mr. Stray for me. Then, we will arrange transport. Please email me or call me at 520-303-0264 as soon as you get my message and let me know if he is available.
