Daisy was found roaming the streets of Miami on Monday – terribly neglected and even more frightened. She was picked up by animal control officers and brought to Miami-Dade Animal Services where she waited in a cage. Sadly, she was covered in feces and vomit and needed immediate rescue. 100 Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida stepped in to help.

Daisy’s condition is heartbreaking by any definition. She can barely see – if at all and will need to be seen by an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. She was not bathed or groomed at the shelter, and her smelly coat was matted with feces, urine and vomit.

She weighs only nine-pounds and was released by the shelter on a foster to adopt program since she has not been at the shelter for the mandatory wait period giving her owners the time tor reclaim her.

This is when Daisy was released from the shelter this afternoon. Check out the video:

Daisy arrived at the organization’s partner veterinary hospital where she is being shaved down and then will be bathed and examined.

  1. When a dog is found wandering the streets in this condition no owner deserves to get their dog back. And should have their property searched for other animals that may also be suffering the same abuse. Her eyes were shocking.
