One puppy did not survive after someone abandoned a litter of puppies in a cardboard box that was left outside of a Florida animal shelter. The Halifax Humane Society, in Daytona Beach, issued a release about the cruel situation on Thursday morning.
According to the animal welfare agency, the box of puppies was left outside of their facility on January 25. All of the abandoned pups needed veterinary care, but one was in such poor condition that it passed away before it could be transported to an emergency veterinary hospital. The shelter writes:
The remaining four puppies received blood transfusions and are undergoing medical treatments for parasites. They will be placed in foster care in hopes of a full recovery.
