A loyal and definitely heroic German shepherd police originally thought had been a stray dog found along the highway in Hartford, Vermont led authorities to the site of his injured owner’s overturned vehicle on January 3, 2022. On the Facebook page for the New Hampshire State Police, two officers reportedly responded to a report of a lost dog wandering along the snow covered highway.
Tinsley, a one-year-old Shiloh shepherd had been spotted on the Memorial Bridge connecting Lebanon and White River Junction, but as police tried to capture the dog, he led them instead to a damaged guard rail. That was when the officers discovered the overturned truck with two men who had been ejected from the vehicle.
#Trooper Sandberg and Officers from the Lebanon Police Department located a large German Shepard on northbound Interstate 89. When Trooper Sandberg and the Lebanon Police Officers attempted to get close to the canine, it continued to run northbound on Interstate 89, crossing into Vermont. A short time later, Trooper Sandberg and the Lebanon Police Officers located a damaged section of guardrail near the Interstate 91 and Interstate 89 junction.

One of the men was Cam Laundry – Tinsley’s owner. The men were hypothermic and seriously injured. Trooper Sandberg and the Lebanon Police Officers were able to quickly call for medical assistance. Even as the crash victims were being treated by EMTs, Tinsley remained calm and stayed with his owner.
According to WcaxNews, Tinsley and Laundry are closely bonded and go everywhere together. That day she was Laundry’s guardian angel and seems to be taking her fame as a hero all in stride.
